Welcome Tracey Devlyn, Author of A Lady's Revenge

I'm thrilled to welcome my friend Tracey Devlyn, author of the sensuous romantic thriller, A Lady's Revenge. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, warm your heart, and tempt you to fall in love with her delectable hero, Guy Trevelyan. Tracey's here to tell us about her debut release and a little about herself.  She's also going to give a free print copy of A Lady's Revenge to one lucky commenter...learn more at the end of Tracey's interview.

Tracey, please tell us about your page-turning new release.

A British agent flees her French captor’s torturous dungeon and falls in love with the decoder responsible for her imprisonment.

British agent Cora deBeau has spent the last three years seducing secrets from the most hardened of French spies while searching for her parents’ killer. When her latest assignment goes awry, she suffers at the hands of her French captor until Guy Trevelyan, the Earl of Helsford and master cryptographer, saves her during a daring rescue. Scarred and wary of men, Cora shies away from the one man who could heal her savaged heart.

After rescuing Cora from a French dungeon, Guy discovers it was one of his deciphered messages that led to her captivity. Guy strives to earn her forgiveness while outwitting their enemy. But will he find the scars on her wounded soul run too deep?

Tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?
Right now, I’m promoting my debut novel, A Lady’s Revenge, which is the first book in the Nexus series. In addition, I’m working on edits for the second novel, Checkmate, My Lord, and I’ll start working on the third story in May.
What makes a book a keeper?
Any story that occupies my thoughts days after finishing it. Also, any story that I can read without setting it aside for long periods of time. Now that I’m writing, I tend to analyze every word as I read. If a story can sweep me away enough to turn off the writer side of my brain, it’s definitely a keeper.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Books will always be my guilty pleasure. Even though I’m reading very little right now, I still make my weekly trip to the bookstore and find at least one treasure to take home. I’m also adding great books to my e-reader. Then there are my research and reference books. So many great resources out there—new and old. I’ll buy great research books in anticipation of needing it in the future, because you just never know when you might need to know more about bedpans in Victorian hospitals.

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
I’m the first one in my family to attend and graduate from college.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Believe it or not, right here in the good ‘ole United States. I’d love to live someplace a little warmer than Chicago, though. Someplace outside the bustle of a big city, with a beautiful lake, national park, or ocean nearby. Oh, I’d also need a romance-friendly bookstore within a 20-30 minute drive.

Where can readers find you on the web?

A few places you can find me are:

What’s your idea of a romantic evening?
I love going on dinner cruises with my husband. The lighting is always soft, the food delish, the breeze gentle, and the company perfect.

Thanks so much, Tracey! You and I have so much in common...I'm also the first in my family to graduate college, and as you know, I'm moving to a quaint little town in the mountains with a river and lake so close, I know where I'll be spending many a summer day...with a good book in my hand, of course. And of course, like you, my guilty pleasure is books, books, and more books. My husband can attest to that - poor thing is going to really suffer moving the boxes and boxes that hold my book collection!

Loved your book! Can't wait to read Checkmate, My Lord.

Welcome Author Adrienne Giordano!

I an so pleased to welcome Adrienne Giordano today. As one of the co-founders of the Romance University blog, she's promoted romance and the art of writing romance while penning her own marvelous romances. She's here to discuss her Private Protectors series with Carina Press and tell us a little about herself.

Welcome, Adrienne. Please tell us a little about your story.

I'd love to! Here is the book cover blurb:

Roxann Thorgesson's world is out of control. After her father suffers a fatal heart attack, she must take over as publisher of Chicago's second-largest newspaper. Then her ex-boyfriend Michael Taylor, CEO of his own security company, shows up needing a favor. The last thing Roxann needs is Michael around causing trouble—and potential heartbreak—but he's involved in a scandalous story she can't pass up.

Twelve years ago, Michael walked out on Roxann without explanation. Now he needs her help. Michael's estranged wife has been murdered and he is the prime suspect. He offers something no newspaperwoman could refuse: exclusive access to his headline-making murder accusation, in exchange for her help in uncovering the true killer. When their investigation leads them to a city hall conspiracy, both their lives and their newly reignited flame could be permanently extinguished…

Tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?
I'm working on book 4 (no title yet) in the Private Protectors series. This will be Billy Tripp's book. Billy is the wisecracking secondary character from Man Law and A Just Deception. Let's just say Billy needs to learn to "filter" in this book!
I'm also about to start a novella that will be in the Carina anniversary edition next summer. The heroine in the novella will be Janet, the woman the Taylor Security guys depend on to get them data they need. She's an awesome hacker! I'm excited to be able to give Janet a story of her own. The poor woman is surrounded by chest-bumping alpha males day after day and she deals with them beautifully. She deserves her own story.

What makes a book a keeper?

For me, a book that lands on my keeper shelf is one where I become completely engaged. I love books written in deep POV because it lets me almost feel what the characters are feeling.  I also love a lot of subtle tension in books. Throw in a little romance and I'm in heaven!

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Carrot cake. Definitely. I love sweets! My butt can attest to that.

When you’re not writing, which authors are on your “go to” list?

I have a lot of authors I like, but when I'm in the mood for something I know will be a great read I go to Harlan Coben and Suzanne Brockmann. I'm also a big Kristan Higgins fan.

Where can readers find you on the web?

My website address is www.AdrienneGiordano.com. I have excerpts out there as well as some fun stuff like character interviews and copies of my character trading cards.

What’s your idea of a romantic evening?

I'm a beach person, so give me a nice bottle of wine and a good sunset and I'm a happy camper. We go to Sanibel Island every year where I get to see some amazing sunsets. Sometimes we'll just get a pizza and sit on the beach to watch. It's simple, but I love it.
